About Us
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is under contract to Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to provide a process for technical analysis and review. The Independent Technical Analysis Process (ITAP) is available to respond to requests from federal, state, and tribal fisheries organizations and the public in general to provide peer-reviewed technical analysis relating to the effects of the development and operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System on migratory salmon or steelhead and resident fish.
The Process
Requests submitted to the ITAP are assigned to independent scientists for analysis. Upon completion, analysis products are reviewed by other independent scientists. When peer review is successfully completed, a package containing the request, analysis, and reviews is then delivered to the requestor and posted to the website for all parties to view.
